TANYA A. SPURLIN, PARTNER

Tanya’s practice includes elder law, estate administration, estate and incapacity planning. Tanya graduated from Quinnipiac University School of Law in 2007 and is a member of the Executive Committee of the Elder Law Section of the Connecticut Bar Association where she has served on the Legislative Committee and is acting as the Continuing Legal Education liaison. She is also a member of the Estates and Probate Section of the Connecticut Bar Association and the Waterbury Bar Association.

AREAS OF PRACTICE

Elder Law:

  • Long-term care planning.
  • Applying for Medicaid benefits.
  • Representing clients at administrative hearings

Probate:

  • Estate Administration.
  • Preparing estate, inheritance and income tax returns, as well as probate forms and accountings.
  • Representing trusts, estates and the beneficiaries thereof at probate hearings.
  • Conservatorships. Representing clients at probate hearings. Preparation of probate forms and accountings.

Estate & Incapacity Planning:

  • Preparation of simple and sophisticated wills and trusts.
  • Preparation of Powers of Attorney and Health Care Directives, including Living Wills and Designations of Health Care Representatives.
